Also, I recently had a student in BWW who shared this information:
I am on the editorial staff of the MacGuffin, a literary magazine, which means, I am a reader among about 7 other readers, who read stacks of short stories, that our main editor has weeded out of the sheafs of entries that she receives. Short short stories seemed to be in favor lately; by that I mean we even put in something as short as 700 words, or as long as 5,000,(the limit).
I have been on the staff for two years, and some of the writing I have seen in this class, would definately be welcomed for our magazine. We get submissions from all over the U.S., and foreign countries.Being published in a literary magazine is often a great precursor to having a novel published. Often, I see on the cover letters, that many authors have been published in numerous literary magazines. Sometimes there are monetary prizes. The E-mail address to The MacGuffin is: email@example.com The fiction/non-fiction editor is: Elizabeth Kircos.
